The Benefits of Singing
Research shows the art of singing offers an array of physical, psychological, emotional, and social benefits to all ages.
Physical benefits of singing include strengthening the immune system, providing a healthy workout by increasing aerobic capacity and stamina, and aids in getting quality rest at night.
Singing is a natural anti-depressant and releases endorphins while lowering stress levels and improves mental alertness and promotes mindfulness and living in the moment.
Those who make singing a regular habit in their lives experience a widened social circle, a boost in confidence, increased communication skills, and an improved ability to appreciate others singing talents.
The pleasures derived from singing are many. The health benefits are tremendous!
Hi, I'm Dr. Greta Pope
I've traveled the world making music and built a successful career as a singer, and now I'm passionate about helping others do the same. For more than two decades, I've offered private voice lessons to singers of all levels, focusing on strong vocal technique and healthy singing habits that sustain a lifelong career.
My students have gone on to become Major Label Recording Artists, Broadway and film performers, and contestants on American Idol, The Voice, and The Four. Many have also been accepted into top-tier university music programs and are performing on operatic and theatrical stages across the globe.
With a Master of Music degree and extensive study in Vocal Pedagogy, I teach a variety of genres including Classical, Broadway, Pop, R&B, Gospel, and Country. Beyond vocal technique, I also serve as a vocal coach, helping singers choose the right material, prepare for auditions, and refine their performances. I've produced and directed concerts and recordings for students and clients alike.
In addition to my teaching and performance career, I serve as the Executive Director of Cultural Arts Everywhere, an organization dedicated to broadening access to the arts and nurturing creativity in diverse communities. I am also proud to serve as a board member of the Orlando (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, a nonprofit organization committed to enriching and sustaining the culture and well-being of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
My mission is simple: to help singers find joy in their craft and build sustainable, healthy singing habits that will last a lifetime.
